There are several threats to the biodiversity of every region here on Earth and these threats are having an overall effect on the cultural diversity of this world. Languages are being lost, idigenous groups are dying out, natural habitats are being destroyed, and cultures are losing their homes and ability to thrive. The issues facing biodiversity are having an intense adverse effect on cultures. The cultures that face the most danger are the idigenous groups still clinging to their traditions, values, and beliefs. With the degradation of their natural environments, these cultures are slowly disappearing. So who will protect these cultures from extinction. While it may seem like a minor task, the government should provide assistance and funding for these groups of people. The world benefits from being culturally diverse, the government included.
The threats on biodiversity are a real life challenge to cultures around the world. Threats on biodiversity include pollution, degradation of habitats, invasive species, climate change, and more. These all have an adverse effect on life. And even though the effects may not seem obvious, these threats hurt our culturally enriched world. The cultures who live in harmony with nature lose these opportunites when environments are invaded or destroyed. The cultures who thrive on their own land see a decrease as their land is taken or used for other purposes. Natural resources are being utilized or even stolen from other cultures. These cultures find it continuously hard to survive when there are so many oppositions facing them.
The government has a superior power over this world. All countries and lands have some sort of authority. These authorities hold some sort of responsibility over conserving idigenous peoples and the culturally diverse aspect of this planet. Decreasing the threats to biodiversity can be done through government funding and legislation. This is one way the dangers can be brought to the public eye. There have even been groups formed to help encourage the protection of the world's biodiversity. It all begins here. It begins with the government's support and encouragement. Biodiversity is related to cultural diversity. In order to preserve both, the governments of all nations must take a stand. They have the power to motivate individuals. Due to this, biodiversity and cultural diversity can be protected starting here.
Some may argue that it is unrealistic to involve the government with biodiversity and cultural diversity. Some may think that the government has better things to do. A very popular argument is that this is nature's course; this is a natural sequence of events. Groups will come and go and the most successful of them will thrive. I beg to differ. While this may be scientifically true, humanely it is our responsibility to protect all people in this world. Even more so, it is culturally important to preserve those groups facing danger of extinction. We do our best to protect animals from extinction, right? What makes humans so different? The use of cultures natural resources and invasion of their land should only be done on their terms. If the world continues to live like this, cultural diversity will continue to decline until there hardly is any. The issues of biodiversity effect the threats facing cultural diversity. The government and individuals can help these threats see a decline.

Globalization in El Salvador has a very positive effect. Due to the country's small size, El Salvador depends heavily on trade with other nations in order to receive goods. For example, the country produces no oil. In order to receive oil, it depends on oil producing countries. Secondly, El Salvador can greatly benefit from the sharing of modern ideas and technology. El Salvador is a developing country. This means that it is a country that is still trying to reach the potential that other countries have been living in for decades. Although El Salvador is developing, the country is seeing a rapid increase in a variety of technologies. These technologies mainly include advancements in communications which allows information from all around the world to be reached. This is incredibly important for a small and dependent country like El Salvador. Thirdly, El Salvador has seen globalization take an extensive influence on the economic and political aspects of the country. As a developing country, global interdependence has played a large role in reform and legislation in this nation. El Salvador has seen the successes of other countries and copies those of which have achieved such success. Overall, globalization has a postive effect on El Salvador. Despite its small size, the country is based on agriculture. The country holds its own by trading these goods such as coffee and other agricultural products. Trade, sharing of ideas, and influences on the economy are all direct results from globalization.

The role of men and women in El Salvador still remain rather traditional. This comes from the deeply rooted roles throughout history. Machismo plays a large part when it comes to the roles of men and women in the country. Machismo is typically described as the role of masculine pride. Men are still deemed the head of the household, the bread winners, and the patriarch. In a country where traditional roles are still valued, a very small amount of women find themselves working in the world of business. As a matter of fact, most women if they work at all hold clerical positions. As throughout history, women are still expected to play the domestic roles of mother, wife, and care taker. While these traditional roles exist, there are some women in the higher classes that have began to work. The roles are beginning to see a slight change, however most women are still considered to play the traditional role of mother and wife.
It is not very surprising to acknowledge that the traditional roles of men and women are still valued in El Salvador. This is because machismo is clearly evident in the country. This is a part of the country's culture. Children grow up seeing and knowing their role in society. In a country like El Salvador, women are slowly beginning to take their place in the business world. Because of machismo, many women truly do not have a desire to play a role in agriculture or business. They follow what their mothers have done, what their grandmothers have done, and so on. They will raise their children to think the same. This is why machimso still exists. Machismo survives in many Latin American countries. El Salvador is just one of many.
Men take over the dominant roles in society. They are the political leaders, the business owners, the head of agriculture, and such. Women also work but they hold more supportive positions. A unfortunate downfall of the societal view of men and women caused by machismo is that many women find themselves to be single mothers. There is a large amount of single households in the country. While the roles remain traditional, households do not. In addition, many women are becoming more independent and more adventurous. They desire to hold higher positions; they desire more equality. While there is little evidence of women holding political and government positions, time and acceptance is making it more possible for women to do so.
Overall, the roles men and women play in society is very traditional. Men play the dominant role while women play the supportive one. As the world evolves, so does this country. Women are seeing more changes and the roles of men and women will soon be more equal than they ever have been before in this country.
